Manitoba just handed out another batch of golden tickets to Canada’s permanent residence, and this time, workers in transportation, manufacturing, and utilities had a real shot.
On July 30, the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) sent out 766 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) in its 276th Expression of Interest draw. This particular round leaned heavily in favour of people already living and working in the province, which is great news if you’re one of those skilled workers grinding it out in Manitoba and wondering when your immigration story finally moves forward.

Out of all 766 candidates invited, 94 had already declared a valid Express Entry profile along with a job seeker validation code, meaning their path could eventually connect with the federal system too.
Who actually got invited this time?
The Skilled Worker in Manitoba pathway carried most of the weight, with 696 invitations split across three groups.
The first group covered just seven very specific occupations, including aerospace engineers, aircraft mechanics, air pilots, and even general practitioners and family physicians. If your job fell into one of these categories and you were already in Manitoba, you were in a strong position.
The second and by far the largest group targeted people working under what’s officially called Broad Occupational Category 9. In plain terms, this covers manufacturing and utilities jobs, everything from machine operators and production supervisors to labourers in processing plants and middle managers overseeing manufacturing operations. This single category accounted for 605 of the invitations, making it the clear star of this draw.
The third group went to Francophone candidates who could show French as their communication language with the province and had valid French test results to back it up.
Separately, the Skilled Worker Stream, which includes both the in-Manitoba and overseas pathways, issued 70 invitations. These went to candidates connected to strategic recruitment initiatives, broken down like this:

Why some eligible candidates still got skipped
Manitoba pointed out that a few people who technically qualified still missed out. Usually it came down to small but costly details, like a language test ID that was missing, invalid, or expired by the draw date, or claiming a strategic recruitment invitation without actually attaching a valid invitation number. It’s a good reminder that in provincial nomination, precision matters just as much as eligibility.
With this latest round, Manitoba has now completed 15 selection draws in 2026, pushing its total invitations issued this year to 4,822.
