On Tuesday August 1, 2023, 194+ invitations were sent out by the latest BC PNP draw of 2023 to apply for Permanent Residency (PR) in targeted draws.

They  invited profiles with experience in 35 Tech occupations under all the BC PNP Skills Immigration streams as well as Express Entry streams, 132 invitations were sent out in this targeted draw.

A total of 39 invitations were sent targeted at profiles having experience as Early Childhood Educator and assistants (NOC 42202).

Another, 23 invitations were targeted at profiles in 39 healthcare-related occupations and less than 5 for Veterinarians (31103) and Animal health technologists (32104).

However, the cutoff score remained same as compared to preceding similar draw on July 11.

Targeted invitations to apply to the Skills Immigration streams may be based on one or more of the following factors:

  • Education – level and field of education and where it was completed
  • Eligible professional designations in B.C.
  • Language skills
  • Occupation
  • Duration and skill level of work experience
  • Wage and/or skill level of job offer
  • Intent to live, work and settle in a specific region
  • Strategic priorities – factors that address specific labor market needs in B.C. or support government pilot projects and initiatives

A total of 840 invitations to apply (ITAs) for Permanent Residency (PR) were sent out on Tuesday August 1, 2023 in three Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program – OINP draws.

755 ITAs were issued under the general draw of the Masters Graduate Stream to profiles with a score of 48 and above.

84 ITAs are sent under the PhD Graduate Stream in a general draw to applicants with a score of 39 and above.

Finally 1 invitation was sent to a profile with a score of 36 and above under the Employer Job Offer: Foreign Worker stream targeted for Economic Mobility Pathways.

New Minister of Immigration, Marc Miller announced  on Tuesday, August 1, 2023 , that the first Express Entry draw targeted for trades occupations will open this week.

This opening will emphasize on candidates with expertise in skilled professions, such as plumbing, welding, and carpentry.

In Honorable Marc Miller’s words:

“It’s absolutely critical to address the shortage of skilled trades workers in our country, and part of the solution is helping the construction sector find and maintain the workers it needs. This round of category-based selection recognizes these skilled trades workers as essential, and I look forward to welcoming more of these talented individuals to Canada.”

In addition to the general invitation rounds, he reaffirmed that these category-based selection rounds will continue throughout the year, and more information will be released in the following weeks.

The first Express Entry draw of August 2023 sent out two thousand (2,000) invitations to apply (ITA) for Permanent Residency (PR) today, August 1, 2023.

It is a “no program specified” draw, this means it considered all the valid profiles within the Express Entry system under the Federal Skilled Worker Program, Canadian Experience Class, and Federal Skilled Trades Program.

The latest ‘no program specified’ Express Entry draw sent out 2,000 invitations to apply for permanent residency (PR) today, August 1, 2023.

The CRS cutoff score jumped by 12 points to 517 as compared to the last ‘no-program specified’ Express Entry draw which took place on July 11.

In the month of July 2023, Canada issues above 16,000 invitations to apply (ITAs) for permanent residency under several immigration programs.

Express Entry provided the highest number of invitations to apply followed by provincial nominee programs of Ontario, Manitoba, Quebec, British Columbia, Alberta, and Prince Edward Island.

The New IRCC GCKey multi-factor authentication  to secure the personal information of applicants by preventing unauthorized access to an account took effect on Monday, July 31, 2023.

Therefore, all applicants or their representatives will need to set up this new multi-factor authentication when creating an account to apply using a GCKey or using your existing GCKey to sign in to your account.

New Canada Workers Benefit quarterly payments will now be sent out beginning July 28, 2023 to help make life more affordable for Canada’s lowest-paid workers.

Eligible single workers can get up to $1,518 and families can get up to $2,616 depending on their income, split between 3 basic quarterly Canada Workers Benefit payments.

IRCC  is hosting a virtual(online) Destination Canada Mobility Forum and it is now open for registration between February 17, 2023, and March 5, 2023. You can register by filling out a form, identifying your occupation’s NOC code, uploading your CV in Canadian format, and filming a short video presentation.

The interviews will take place between February 20th and March 31st, 2023. They will also host information forums virtually on March 14th for Information and Communications Technology and March 20th and 21st for Tourism-Hospitality-Culinary.
