Ontario invites 3,791 Candidates in latest PNP draws

Dear future neighbour,

Ontario recently held a new Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) draw after taking a break for over four months. The draw took place on June 3 and June 6, 2025, and focused on people who have job offers from Ontario employers.

In total, 3,791 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) were sent out across different job streams.

See below details of the draws

Ontario selected candidates in three main streams:

1. Foreign Worker Stream – 807 ITAs

  • Workers with job offers in Northern Ontario.

  • Candidates in special REDI (Regional Economic Development Initiative) areas.

  • A few invited for jobs like career development practitioners.

2. International Student Stream – 2,540 ITAs

  • Students with job offers in healthcare.

  • Students working in Northern and Eastern Ontario.

  • Students in REDI areas.

3. In-Demand Skills Stream – 372 ITAs

  • Healthcare workers like home support workers.

  • Workers in Northern Ontario and REDI areas.

4. Correction Draw – 72 ITAs (June 6)

  • Additional invitations sent to fix a system issue in Greater Sudbury.

Key Highlights from these draws

  • Big Focus on Healthcare: Many invitations went to people in healthcare jobs like nurses and support workers.

  • Support for Regional Areas: Ontario is focusing on getting workers to settle in smaller cities and regions like Northern Ontario and REDI areas.

  • Smaller Nomination Cap: Ontario has fewer spots this year, so the process might take longer.

  • New Employer Portal Coming: From July 2, 2025, employers will have a new system to help manage applications. Express of Interest (EOI) profiles will close briefly in late June to prepare for this.

Tips & Next Steps?

  • If you received an invitation, submit your full application within 14 days.
  • Make sure your job offer and profile information are up to date.
  • Watch for updates about the new Employer Portal.
  • If you work in healthcare or have a job offer in regional Ontario, you may have better chances in future draws.
