Recent OINP Update:

OINP has changed its Employer Guide and Employer Job Offer stream pages to clearly state the minimum number of employees an employer needs.

The new OINP guidance clarifies that for a company with a mobile workforce, the minimum number of workers required at the location where the applicant will work or report can include both:

-workers who work at that location
-workers who report to work at that location

The “report to work” location could be:

– The place where the applicant’s direct boss or supervisor is.
– The administrative office where they get their work tasks and assignments.

The “report to work” location must have at least 5 workers in the Greater Toronto Area and 3 workers outside the GTA.

Dear future neighbour,

Are you a student, a worker, or even a visitor in Canada? Are you working towards obtaining a permanent resident status? If you answered YES to any of these questions, then this article is for YOU.

Whatever you do in any of the above categories, you must ensure that you do not make the mistake of falling out of status in Canada, which means you should be very careful to make sure that your study permit, work permit, or visitor visa does not expire; in addition, it is crucial that you do not engage in any activity that could jeopardize your status, such as failing to obey the conditions of your visa.

Many temporary residents tend to forget that their temporary status is not permanent. In this article, we want to remind you that if you fail to obey the conditions of your visa or disobey Canadian immigration law, it can result in you becoming inadmissible for permanent residence in Canada.

See below list of things that can make you inadmissible for PR in Canada:

1. Overstaying on a Visitor Visa

2. Working beyond the allowed limit on your study permit

3. Getting out of status for any reason and continuing to stay in Canada

June 4, 2024

Dear future neighbour,

On June 3, 2024, Minister Marc Miller announced improved caregiver programs, letting caregivers keep coming to Canada as they work to make these programs permanent.

The new pilot programs will give home care professionals permanent residency as soon as they arrive in Canada.

Furthermore, they can also work with groups that help people who don’t need full-time care or are getting better from being sick or hurt. This new way helps caregivers find good jobs with trusted companies and easily become permanent residents when they arrive in Canada.

People who want to work in Canada’s home care field can apply for these new pilot programs if they meet these requirements:

– They need to be at least level 4 in English or French.
– They should have a high school diploma like in Canada.
– They must have recent relevant work experience.
– They need a full-time job offer in home care.

Miller confirmed pilot launch by late fall 2024 or early 2025. New pilot initiatives mark progress in meeting Canada’s home care needs.
