IRCC officially updates processing timeframes once a week. The last update was made on Tuesday August 22, 2023. These updates provide clear information that accounts for processing volumes as well as any changes to IRCC’s ability to handle applications.

Majority of citizenship and permanent residency services now provide processing timelines for 80% of applications, which are updated weekly based on statistics from the past six months. The IRCC is currently sending out AOR letters or emails to citizenship applicants who applied on paper or online between July 13, 2023.

The processing timeframes for temporary residence applications are also updated every week based on statistics from the previous 8 or 16 weeks.

These processing timetables are intended to give potential immigrants and visa applicants in Canada an idea of how long it will take to decide whether or not to accept their application. This does not mean that an application will be processed in the same amount of time.

Given that it is based on the processing times of 80% of applicants, the processing time for your application may be longer or shorter than stated.

August 17, 2023

On Wednesday August 16, 2023, the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program – SINP  invited 642 applicants to apply for provincial nomination in six new rounds of invitations.

Since June 8, 2023, Saskatchewan has not declared any PNP draws, this comes after a long time of waiting. These draws are very unique due to the fact that the cutoff score in these rounds of invitations equals the points required to just qualify for the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP).

An applicant needs 60 points to be eligible to create an Expression of Interest (EOI) profile for the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP).

Saskatchewan invited all the applicants residing outside Canada from select countries, including India, making it different from other provincial nominee programs (PNPs),

So if anyone from the below-listed countries has experience in the mentioned NOC codes and has created a profile with SINP, they have received the Canadian permanent residency invitation.

See below full details of the SINP Latest Draw announced on August 16, 2023

Cutoff score among all the categories listed below was 60 which is equal to the score required to qualify for creating SINP profile.

A total of 4,300 invitations to apply for Permanent Residency (PR) were sent out in the all program Express Entry draw on Tuesday August 15, 2023.

The Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) cutoff score dropped by 21 points to 496 from the last draw which took place on August 1, 2023 .

In the August 1 ‘no program specified’ Express Entry draw, the CRS cutoff score jumped because IRCC held this draw after 3 weeks and there was a significant increase in new profiles, but this has now dropped notably because of the increase in the number of invitations.

See below the full details of the latest Express Entry draws, as well as all the draws in 2023 and the next draw prediction.

August 15, 2023

IRCC began holding category-based Express Entry draws towards the end of June 2023 . A total of six categories have been chosen to achieve specific economic goals including meeting the skilled labor demands in certain occupations.

These categories include the following:

  1. French-language proficiency
  2. Healthcare occupations
  3. Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) occupations
  4. Trade occupations
  5. Transport occupations
  6. Agriculture and agri-food occupations

In a report from IRCC as shared by the Globe and Mail, IRCC will be prioritizing recruiting applicants with experience in the STEM professions. Between 28 per cent and 31 per cent of invitations that are issued through Express Entry this year are expected to go to people with recent experience in certain STEM jobs which includes software developers and data scientists. Presently, there has only been one round of STEM invites that went to 500 applicants.

The target range for candidates with French proficiency is 11 per cent to 15 percent.

The target for specific occupations within health care is nine percent to 12 percent.

The target for Trades is three to four percent.

The target for Transportation and Agriculture is one to two per cent each.
