Post Graduate Work Permit Application

The Post-Graduation Work Program or PGWP is designed to help foreign students who have completed a program from a Canadian Designated Learning Institution (DLI) to stay and work in Canada with an open work permit for a fixed duration of time.

The criteria to be eligible for a PGWP include the following:

Eligibility

  • Hold a valid study permit at the time of the PGWP application
  • Must have studied full-time at a DLI in a Post-secondary academic, vocational or professional training program
  • Must have been authorized to work off campus without a work permit
  • Must not have exceeded the allowable hours of work
